Avoid this company at all costs as they do not honour promises

I purchased an Electriq SF12000 air conditioning unit from Appliances Direct two years ago (sales order 45887618). This was the second air con unit I had bought from them as the first unit has worked really well.

While this unit worked well initially, this year the performance has been poor as it keeps filling with water after only 3-4 hours of running (last year it didn’t even fill up with water over 2-3 months of use).
This means the unit starts beeping during the night and wakes my daughter up. It is also not cooling as well as before. However I wasn’t concerned about this when I called up Appliances Direct as I had purchased a 5 year warranty from them when I bought the item to ensure peace of mind.

From the minute I have called Appliances Direct with this issue, they have been extremely unhelpful and put as many barriers as possible in my way to avoid honouring the warranty. I have dealt with somebody different each time with no continuity of service. In the end a case manager told me that my warranty was not valid as my venting unit was running at n angle of more than 30 degrees to the horizon when I vented the unit out of the window. However this was the only way to get the vent out of the window as the unit sits on the floor. I was told that I should have taken the wheels off the unit, rested the unit precariously on a high table and then vented it that way! Funny how this was not mentioned in the manual.

In summary they have refused my claim. The best they could do was offer a 15% discount for a replacement unit.

My advice is avoid this company and avoid this air conditioning unit (I think they make the unit themselves). Disgraceful customer service I will be raising this further with Trading Standards and my credit card issuer

So impressed with Appliances Direct

So impressed with Appliances Direct. I have never used them before (actually I had never even heard of them! ) I ordered a Shark cordless hoover and did lots of price comparisons beforehand and Appliances Direct offered the best price, I ordered it Tuesday afternoon, it was free delivery and it came Wednesday lunch time via DPD .... very impressive.
Hoover is excellent.

Are fine but unfortunately the product doesn't work and I will be contacting you to return the item , sorry.

Reason the ice machine dose one ice drop then stops the refill flashes all the time even when it's full.

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I spoke to Joanna Guzman from customer services and she would not escalate my complaint to senior member of staff.

I did not receive the items l paid for, appliances direct would not refund or resend me the items per my invoice. I was told the wrongly delivered items l did receive would have to be returned before they could rectify THEIR MISTAKE.

They kept saying they would contact me and nobody did. I had to keep calling in to get clarification about what was happening with my order to then be met with a condescending response.

To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. There was no apology, except when l said they were unapologetic, only then l got an insincere response.

I will not be ordering from this company ever again. I would advise others not to also. The customer service department is poor.
